Tips For Successful Treatment

Take time to talk with your provider about any of the following:

-What do you hope to accomplish by coming in for therapy?

-Where are you feeling pain or discomfort and how often does this occur?

-How have these symptoms impacted your life (e.g., work, hobbies/activities)?

-Do you feel like there is a specific area(s) of your body that needs more attention than others?

-Are there certain times when it’s difficult for you to perform tasks without aggravating an injury or condition such as after performing regular household chores, sleeping, sitting at school/work all day, etc.?

-Have other health care providers suggested physical therapy as part

This is a photo of Matt Powers PT and co-owner walking away with a patient. This photo is taken from the back of both the patent and the therapist. He is showing her how to use a cane. The cane is held in her right hand and she has a gait belt on. A gait belt gives Physical Therapists a way to hold on to patients in a safer way.

The Importance of Finding the Right Physical Therapist

Physical Therapy works, the research proves that. However, one of the biggest variables for success was the Patient and Therapist relationship. It is important to find a physical therapist that you feel comfortable with. At Apex Physical Therapy, we have therapists on staff that specialize in various areas of medicine and injury so the chances are good that your needs will be met.

In order for PT to work properly, it’s imperative that you give 100% effort into rehabilitating. This means going outside your comfort zone at times but this is crucial for success! The people who don’t do their best end up not getting better or worse off than when they started out.

If you are fully committed, your therapist will be your best advocate for your success. They will work with you to achieve your goals.

PATIENT SUCCESS

“I highly recommend Apex for your pre/rehabilitation needs. Very knowledgeable and caring staff. I have worked with many Physical Therapists in my 10-year Military career and Matt by far is the best in the business. If you want to be better than before the injury chooses Apex!” ~ Cody F.

“Apex is the best. Matt is very knowledgeable compassionate and one of the most encouraging people I have ever met. He never gave up on me and wouldn’t let me give up on myself. Everyone there is so inclusive they make you feel like family. I have regained my mobility and feel like I have gained friends. Ya can’t beat that.” ~ Juanita W.

“I had some back issues for a few years and my doctor had recommended sending me to a specialist for surgery consultation. I had tried PT at another place about a year before my back issues flared up again and it had helped some so I asked if we could try that one more time first. He referred me to APEX this time and I had both Matt & Jacob as therapists. I was scared, didn’t think it would really help but certainly didn’t want to even think about surgery so I really wanted to try therapy again. I can’t even describe how thorough and helpful both Matt & Jacob were with my therapy routine. I could tell a huge difference almost immediately. After only a couple months of therapy my back pain was gone. That being said, I’m now going to CrossFit regularly and I’m doing things I never thought I would be able to do again because of my back pain! So please if you have therapy needs please give APEX a try and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. They are very professional, thorough and have a great staff.” ~ Kimberly A

“I was having back issues last year and my doctor recommended physical therapy. I decided to go to apex and Matt really helped me get some pain relief.. He always asked me everytime I went back in how much pain i was in and if I thought I was seeing results.. let me tell you, he knows his stuff and even though he’ll put you through the ringer, hes doing it for you. After two months i was fully healed and was released back to my normal self. I wouldn’t go to anyone else for you therapy needs. MATT is AWESOME!! Thanks so much!!! 🙂 ~ Ashley W

“Not the traditional physical therapy, but much better. I have had knee pain for years and nothing seemed to help, including medicine. Went to Matt and within a short period of time, I have more movement and am pain free. Always a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Matt goes above and beyond to make sure that each and every single person that comes in feels comfortable, regardless if it is for therapy or some other reason. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND APEX PHYSICAL THERAPY AND SPORTS PERFOMANCE.” Denise M
